No Oil. No Electric Vehicles.

Some people act as if electric vehicles and the oil industry are competitors, but the truth is they are partners.
Without oil, there would be no electric vehicles.
The plastics used in dashboards, door panels, seats, wiring insulation, bumpers, tires, seals, and countless other components are derived from petrochemicals sourced from the oil industry. These materials make vehicles lighter, stronger, safer, and more affordable.
Weight is one of the biggest challenges facing EVs. The lighter the vehicle, the farther it can travel on a single charge. Petrochemicals help make that possible.
Even electric vehicles rely on petroleum-based greases, brake fluids, synthetic rubber, and advanced polymers throughout the vehicle.
We can't stress this enough: Oil is more than gasoline.
It makes modern transportation possible.
California's oil industry doesn't just fuel vehicles. It helps build them.
As technology advances, petrochemicals will continue to help manufacturers build lighter, stronger, and more efficient vehicles, whether they run on gasoline, electricity, or another fuel.
The future of transportation isn't oil versus electric vehicles.
The future of transportation includes both.
